Women in Transition being guided through to smoother waters in turbulent times.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2007 American Community Survey, Women between the ages of 40 and 65 years of age make up 21.9 percent of the American population. Of this number, 32.8 percent have never been married, are divorced or widowed. Additionally, 12 percent are single parents. And finally, in these tough economic times, many now find themselves amongst the unemployed. With these sobering statistics, it’s no wonder women across America are seeking resources and assistance in navigating life’s challenges after the age of 40.
Widowed at the age of 44, diagnosed with breast cancer the following year (now a 4-year survivor), a single parent and laid off from a six-figure job of nine years in 2007 as a corporate executive, Angel Uddin has first hand experience as to the impact of these challenges. Nonetheless, she has survived and risen above it all. It has been through a positive attitude, perseverance, faith and well thought out strategies that she has been able to overcome life’s obstacles.
In November of 2006 Angel opened a specialty shop focusing on the sensuality issues of middle aged women and their partners. She sought to eliminate the stigmas of sex with her target audience and help them find more fruitful relationships as well as their voices. After two and a half years her dream became part of the sobering statistic of the economic downturn. At the end of this February the doors closed on her business.
Instead of being discouraged, Angel decided to “reinvent” herself and her business. As a Certified Relationship and Life Coach, she decided to channel her gifts and energies towards those who needed her guidance the most.
She has been the guest speaker for the Minneapolis Urban League Young Professionals, St. Paul’s Mothers and More, Minneapolis Mothers and More, The Minnesota Chapter of Women in Networking, was featured on public radio, KMOJ’s Health and Wellness Show, and on Stephanie Hanson of FM107 (WFMP) Cool Women Doing Cool Things. Angel will be a special guest of Sheletta Brundidge on the CrossRoads Show on the Twin Cities KSTC cable network.
On the second Wednesday of each month women from across the Twin Cities gather to share and support each other through the ups and downs of midlife experiences. This is a relaxing, casual social event to meet new friends and for women to realize they are not alone in their journey. Angel is the founder and facilitator of this group known as The St. Paul Women in Transition.

Through the use of technology, Angel will extend open access to not only women in the Twin Cities to such vital information, but she will be able to reach women all over the globe. This is important work and Angel is passionate about the help she is bringing and the difference she is making in the lives of so many women.
